What should you automate in SEO? The checks you repeat every week. Strategy, judgment and anything that publishes at scale stay with a person. Google treats content produced at scale to boost rankings as spam, whether a script or a person made it. It calls this scaled content abuse. Start with a weekly crawl. Screaming Frog is free up to 500 URLs and catches broken links and noindex accidents before Search Console reports them. Rank tracking now covers AI answers. SE Ranking checks 2,000 keywords and 100 AI prompts a day, from about 103 dollars a month billed annually. IndexNow tells Bing and other engines a page changed, with one ping on publish. Google is not among them. Then add a QA gate: a script that blocks publishing while a draft fails a check, like a broken link. Order matters. Our first IndexNow ping fired during publish, and sent Bing to a page that still returned a 404. Automation runs your mistakes as fast as your fixes. Four of the six workflows cost nothing. The starter stack needs one crawler licence and one tracking plan. Automate the checks, keep a person on anything that publishes. The full guide is on organikpi.com.
