Search Google for the best anything, and an AI Overview answers first. We ran 160 buyer queries. 159 returned one. 78 percent of its 1,208 citations point to pages that are themselves ranked lists. Google quotes rankings that already exist. YouTube is the largest single source, with 273 citations. It appears in 73 percent of the answers. Reddit adds 91. Vendors get cited too, mostly for ranking themselves. 65 percent of vendor citations point to content the vendor wrote about its own market, usually its own best-of list. Consumer products work differently. Editorial reviews take 35 percent of the citations there, and vendors fall to 9. And 46 percent of cited domains do not rank in the query's top 10. The answer box is no longer a summary of page one. So publish an honest ranked list for your own category, get into a comparison video, and work the review platforms. On buyer queries, visibility runs through rankings, yours or someone else's. The full study is on organikpi.com.
