The 12 Best Rank Trackers (2026): Daily Rankings and AI Search Tracking
TL;DR
  • SE Ranking is the best rank tracker for daily and AI results.
  • Ahrefs and Moz Pro update rankings weekly on every plan.
  • SE Ranking Core tracks 2,000 daily keywords for $129 a month.
  • Semrush and AccuRanker charge extra for ChatGPT tracking.
  • Agencies should price Pro Rank Tracker, and local teams Nightwatch.

A rank tracker records where your pages rank for a set of keywords, and SE Ranking is the best one for most teams in 2026. Its $129/mo Core plan tracks 2,000 keywords daily and checks AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity in the same plan. Pro Rank Tracker is the dedicated pick for agencies, Advanced Web Ranking covers 4,000+ search engines, and Nightwatch suits local and AI tracking.

On update frequency, Ahrefs and Moz Pro refresh rankings weekly on every plan, and Mangools does below Agency, so a drop can go unreported for days. On AI coverage, Semrush’s $139/mo SEO plan does not track ChatGPT or AI Mode, and AccuRanker sells LLM tracking separately.

What is a rank tracker?

A rank tracker checks where your pages rank for a fixed list of keywords, on a schedule, by search engine, device and location. It stores the history, so you can see when a page moved and which competitor took its place.

An AI rank tracker runs prompts, chosen through prompt research rather than keyword research, in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Claude, and records whether your brand is mentioned or your page is cited. That measure is usually called AI visibility. Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode are separate surfaces, so a tracker has to check both.

How we ranked these

We ranked on five criteria, most important first.

  • Daily updates at the entry price. This counts most. SerpRobot updates daily but ranks last, with few reviews and no AI or SERP-feature tracking.
  • AI search coverage in the base plan. AI Overviews, AI Mode and LLM answers without buying a second product.
  • Cost per daily-tracked keyword. The cheapest paid plan on monthly billing, divided by the keywords it tracks daily.
  • Independent reviews. Score and number of reviews on each vendor’s busiest review platform.
  • Agency fit. White label, API, seats, and local and mobile tracking.

The 12 best rank trackers in 2026

1. SE Ranking: Best overall

SE Ranking tracks rankings daily on Google, Bing, Yahoo and YouTube. Core covers 2,000 keywords a day for $129/mo, about 6.5 cents each. That is the lowest rate among the tools here that track daily on their entry plan. It also runs 100 AI prompts a day across five AI surfaces. Pro’s 7,000 keyword units are counted weekly, so daily tracking covers about 1,000 keywords. It ranks third because fewer people have reviewed it than the two tools above.

Key details:

  • Best for: teams reporting across many engines and markets.

  • Best for: site owners tracking under a hundred keywords.
  • What it does: daily rank checks per bot, desktop, mobile and tablet, any location.

The costs not in the headline price

  • Seats. SE Ranking Core has one manager seat, with extras from $16. Semrush charges from $45/mo per extra user, Moz Pro $49/mo and Ahrefs $40/mo on Lite.
  • White label. SE Ranking’s Agency Pack costs $69/mo on annual billing only, and Semrush’s Pro Report $20/mo. Nightwatch starts it at Professional, Wincher at Standard, and Serpstat and Advanced Web Ranking at Agency.
  • AI tracking add-ons. AccuLLM starts at $206/mo billed annually, Ahrefs Brand Radar AI at $199/mo, and SE Ranking’s AI Search add-on at $89/mo for 200 more prompts. Moz Pro sells 100 extra prompts for $50/mo.
  • Units that are not keywords. Pro Rank Tracker bills terms, 2 per AI prompt. Serpstat meters monthly checks, and Mangools counts desktop and mobile as two keywords.
  • API access. Semrush’s API starts at Advanced ($549/mo) and Pro Rank Tracker’s at Agency. SE Ranking sells an API add-on at $45/mo, annual billing only.

Where review scores and rankings mislead

On Trustpilot, Semrush drops from 4.4 on G2 to 1.7, Ahrefs from 4.5 to 2.2, AccuRanker from 4.9 on Capterra to 2.7, Serpstat from 4.6 to 3.0 and SerpRobot from 4.4 to 2.9. Moz’s 2.4 on Trustpilot covers the whole company, not Moz Pro alone.

Weekly data is enough for a monthly client report. A page can also rank first under an AI Overview, so read positions next to the click-through effect of AI Overviews. A stable rank can hide falling traffic, the problem zero-click recovery deals with.

How to choose a rank tracker

Ask three questions.

  • How often does it update on your plan? Ahrefs and Moz Pro are weekly on every plan, and Mangools below Agency. Advanced Web Ranking charges 7 times the units for daily.
  • Which AI results are in the base plan? SE Ranking, Pro Rank Tracker, Advanced Web Ranking and Nightwatch track AI Overviews, AI Mode and LLM answers on their entry plans. Moz Pro tracks prompts weekly from Standard, Ahrefs Lite tracks 5 and Mangools Basic includes 500.
  • What does one daily keyword cost? The chart divides each entry price by its daily keyword allowance.

Matched to the buyer:

  • Most teams: SE Ranking, for daily tracking and five AI surfaces at $129/mo.
  • Agencies: Pro Rank Tracker, or Advanced Web Ranking for 4,000+ engines.
  • Local businesses: Nightwatch, from €99/mo.
  • Large keyword sets: AccuRanker, plus AccuLLM if LLM answers matter.
  • Under 100 keywords: SerpRobot from $4.99/mo, or Wincher for more features.
  • LLM answers first: a dedicated AI visibility tool, or AI SEO tools for content work.

Conclusion

SE Ranking is the best rank tracker for most teams in 2026. Its $129/mo Core plan tracks 2,000 keywords daily and covers AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity without an add-on. Agencies should price Pro Rank Tracker, multi-engine teams Advanced Web Ranking, and local teams Nightwatch.

If you already pay for Semrush, Ahrefs or Moz, check the update schedule and AI add-on first. Decide which AI visibility metrics you will report before you choose how many prompts to buy.
